Classroom Training
Computer and Office Skills Training
Intensive training in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint,and Outlook as well as Internet skills, keyboarding, business English and office skills prepare students for employment in a professional environment. The program utilizes state-of-the-art computers and runs 5 days per week for 18 weeks. Ongoing vocational counseling and job placement assistance upon course completion combine with excellent instruction to lead to a placement rate of over 96%.
English as a Second Language
Open-entry, open-exit classes allow for individual level to level progression through 5 levels of instruction in this 12-20 hours per week, highly interactive, practical program. Employment and lifeskill based curricula are supplemented by individual tutoring as needed. Vocational counseling may also be available.
Adult Basic Education
Instruction in the basic skills areas of English and mathematics prepare students for high school equivalency examinations and/or the educational skills needed to obtain employment or enter vocational training programs. This intensive program runs 4 days per week and is supplemented by vocational counseling.
Low Literacy Education
Instruction in reading, writing, and basic computing helps those with minimal education gain the skills necessary for employment, and for everyday living. The program runs from 8-20 hours per week.
Customer Service Skills Training
This eight week course prepares participants with the work skills necessary for careers in the retail, healthcare, and hospitality industries. Customer service and communication skills are taught utilizing the JVS Learning Solutions™ proprietary CD-ROM courseware. The course utilizes workplace scenarios and role play to focus on such skills as prioritizing, problem solving, and appropriate work behaviors.
Call Center Training
Preparation with the skills necessary for employment in the Call Center industry are provided in this intensive 6 week course. Students learn accurate word processing, utilizing multiple Windows, and the communication and problem solving skills necessary for good customer service. Job placement assistance is provided at the conclusion of the course.
