This program provides comprehensive vocational and educational evaluation to Essex County residents aged 16 and older who enroll through the Essex County Division of Employment Training (DET). The assessment helps to identify each participant's strengths and weaknesses regarding academic skills, aptitudes, vocational interests and goals. Upon completion, participants are referred to training programs which meet their vocational needs and abilities. The Assessment Office is located at the DET facility.

This program provides computerized remediation in reading and mathematics to assure that participants have the necessary skills to benefit from a training program. Diagnostic evaluation provides an individualized prescription of skills which need to be upgraded. This program allows participants to work at their own pace and provides immediate feedback. Participants also attend group classes to reinforce learning. The Remediation Program is located at the DET facility.
