Established in June, 2005, by the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Vocational Service of MetroWest to honor the agency's fourth Executive Director on the anniversary of his 40 years of service to JVS and the community, the Ronald I. Coun Center currently offers the following array of vocational, social, and health related services for the mature adult:

Maturity Works

Comprehensive job placement services for unemployed and underemployed MetroWest residents aged 45-75+.

JVS Caregiving Companions

Non-medical care and companionship services provided at home for the frail elderly and disabled.

JVS Home Maintenance Solutions

Basic home repair and maintenance services for the frail elderly and disabled.

Citizenship and Case Management Services for Older Refugees and Immigrants

Citizenship preparation and "survival" English language instruction through English as a Second Language (ESL) and civics classes; naturalization workshops; case management and job placement services.

The JVS Work Center on Aging

Vocational rehabilitation, case management, social supports, skills training, and job placement services for the disabled aged 55+.

The JVS Work Activity Center at DOI

Vocational rehabilitation and social supports for residents and day program participants at Daughter's of Israel in West Orange.

JVS Volunteer Corps

Healthy retired seniors serve in meaningful supplemental roles as volunteers in the following activities: ESL Tutors; Basic Skills Tutors; Interview Skill Coaches; and, Mentors.

Life-Work Planning Services

One-on-one and group counseling, guidance and informational sessions to help individuals prepare for retirement and beyond. Includes exploration of vocational, avocational and leisure time options and opportunities.

JVS Creative Maturity Expo

An all day educational event for people age 50+ offering a wide range of information and services for comprehensive pre and post retirement planning.

An endowment goal of $6M has been established for the Center, which funds would enable the above programs and services to continue into the future. Endowment gifts may be made to the Center as a whole, or to individual programs or services. For more information, contact:
